The Connection Movie

21st May 2015

THE MIND ROOM hosts a special opportunity to see a screening of THE CONNECTION at Allpress Studio in Collingwood fundraising for Mindful in May.

Join Australian filmmaker Shannon Harvey as she goes on a journey of mindfulness and scientific discovery. Diagnosed at 24 years old with a chronic autoimmune disease that left her with the prospect of a life with organ failure, or wheelchair bound.  Shannon tried everything from drugs to alternative therapies and everything in between. But she was still sick. There was one thing she did know. When she was stressed, she got worse. With a background in journalism, Shannon sought answers in pioneering science. On her journey to getting better, Shannon realized that in order to change her health she needed to change her mind. Funds raised through ticket sales will go to Mindful in May - a one month global, online mindfulness meditation challenge that brings the benefits of meditation together with an opportunity to contribute to bringing clean, safe drinking water to those living in the developing world. It’s just ten minutes a day of guided meditation from the 1st of May. The program, created by founder Dr Elise Bialylew, includes weekly audio meditation downloads, exclusive interviews with leading experts in the field of meditation, wellbeing, and wisdom and cutting edge science to keep you connected to your challenge.
